I'm quite late with the Song of the Week this time but rather late than never, right?
May I present you
That's Rhythm
I heard this song the first time on a compilation “Lindy Hop Originals” (out-of-print) at the beginning of my swing dance career.
Somehow, I don't like the beginning of the song that much, but the solos starting at around 1:00 are pure awesomeness!
Rex Stewart
Rex Stewart (February 22, 1907 – September 7, 1967) was an American jazz cornetist best known for his work with the Duke Ellington orchestra.
But he also was a lecturer, farmer, disc jockey and jazz critic.
I wrote about Rex Stewart in more detail two years ago: SOTW #89: Rexatious
