About the Savoy Satellites

In 2012 the Bassist Heiko Grumpelt founded the Band as a quartet, which echoed the sounds and style of the Nat King Cole Trio.

Since then they have been performing regular concerts at clubs and ballrooms around Germany for swing dancers and swing enthusiasts.

In 2014 the band began a monthly residency at ‘white trash berlin’ and subsequently added three horns and a drummer to the ensemble.

After the sudden passing away of their lead singer Castillo in 2019, the Savoys started collaborating with different vocalists which broadened their horizons and enabled them to explore various facets of the Swing genre.
