In 1928, Andy Kirk took over Terrence Holder’s Dark Clouds of Joy and moved to Kansas City.
He first named the orchestra Andy Kirk and his Dark Clouds Of Joy and then Andy Kirk and his Twelve Clouds Of Joy.

The title is self-explaining. As I mentioned before, it is indeed a great song for social dancing.
