About The Band
Taken from their website:
In 2011, this band-project was born out of Christiane’s enthusiasm for singing and dancing Authentic Jazz. Deeply motivated to combine the two, she set out to gather fellow musicians to provide dancers of the Lindy Hop, Charleston and other dances of the Swing era with solid live-music that would inspire them on the dancefloor.
Ever since then, the Stompin' Lickers dedicate themselves to this truly addictive sound: Jazz, the pop of the early 20ies up to the late 40ies – a time in musical history when listening to music could hardly be separated from moving the body along to it. And today, as much as back then, it's virtually impossible to hold still while the band is playing. This, by the way, holds true for experienced dancers as well as (supposed:)) non-dancers.
The Stompin' Lickers celebrate the (re)playing of choice originals of the time in their own style, making them a Jazz band rather than a Jazz cover-band: Contemporary sound of the old school, translated to Vienna, thus JASZ – an addictive subsDance.
About The Album
Taken from Bandcamp:
Ever since the band's early days in 2011, creative processes of communication and improvisation have lead to a re-arrangement not only of songs but also of the the band’s actual identity.
With recording this album, we were finally able to manifest those changes in a physical form that’s durable beyond the stages.
