Hello Friends,
I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for pledging to support my project. After careful thought, I have decided to cancel the project due to personal reasons mostly, but mainly because I believe that I overestimated what I am capable of at this time. With a baby on the way soon and so much going on, I found it hard to find the time promote the campaign and to make a proper video. That realization had me concerned about my ability to complete the project in a timely manner and put something out there that you would all be happy to hear. I just didn't want to let you down. Life is about to be a lot different for me! But I am eager to keep making music for all of you to enjoy whenever that may be. I can't tell you how much it means to me that you all believe in what I do and I feel so lucky to have your trust and support. Have a wonderful Holiday Season.
In Gratitude,
Linnzi Zaorski
2006 was the year when I started Swing DJing and it was the year when I discovered Linnzi Zaorski on MySpace and it was my first contact with contemporary music from New Orleans
For many years, I started almost every Swing DJ set with her version of “When I Get Low I Get High” from the “Hotsy-Totsy” album.
Now, there is a new CD on its way and Linnzi launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund its production.
Linnzi Zaorski's New CD
A message from Linnzi Zaorski (taken from the campaign website):
Hey Folks! It's time for another CD! I've been wrestling with how I want to go about this project for so long and now there is no more time to delay—I have a baby on the way!
My first child is due this coming March and I want to make sure all the recording aspects of this project are complete before she arrives. This will be my last jazz/swing album for the foreseeable future as I have two unrelated musical ventures in the works for the next few years.
We have already begun recording and I am attaching some rough mixes to give you a little sample of what's to come. For this CD, I am working with (as usual) some of the top musicians New Orleans has to offer, many of whom I've never had the chance to work with before now. (I've listed the musicians that are on this album so far below.)
Of course, top musicians cost money, not to mention the engineer, studio time, mastering and printing fees, graphics and photography—it all adds up!
That's why this time I am asking for your help. I have done my best to set up a reward system that will really give you your money's worth and I do hope you will take advantage of what I am offering.
Most of these gifts have never been offered before, nor will they be available in the future, so now's the time!
A few things about the rewards: If you choose a reward with a Holiday CD, you must pledge by December 15th to ensure its arrival by Christmas. AND you MUST contact me with your address so that I can send it along. Otherwise I will not receive that information until after the campaign.
Also, feel free to request substitutions for some of the items if you'd like. I will see what I can do to accommodate your wishes.
I want to thank everyone in advance as well. I have been so blessed to have such a supportive fan base for soooooo many years.
I get a tear in my eye just thinking about it! It is my sincere wish that this recording reflects my gratitude.
Oh, and I wanted to add that the photo for this project was taken by Brindi Low and make-up by Angelina Butera:)
