Well, bands are sometimes really bad promoters 🙂
There is this great Swing band from Paris called Hot Sugar Band (they killed it at the European Swing Dance Championships!), they start a campaign to fund their new album but even on their own website you can't find any word about this project.
So let's help that wonderful band to realize their new album.
About The Project
The project involves the creation of an original album centered around swing music of the period of 30/40 years.
Like their idols Chick Webb or Count Basie, The Hot Sugar Band, in all modesty, will try to get closer to the style of the time, including adding his personal touch.
The group's special juggling entirely instrumental tracks (without voice) or with voices both male and female, in the tradition of jazz. The group of artists Songwriters compounds offer both arrangements and readjustments, as original compositions or occasions.
The recording of the album will aim to get as close to the “recording sessions” of the time. Indeed, the decision will be made in the so-called “one take” live, ie. without re-registration or post record reshuffle.
The idea is to get as close to the time records: Vintage microphone and pre amp, trying to scan to a minimum. One of the goals is to keep the sound of the instruments closest to their acoustic sound.
KissKissBankBank
Hot Sugar Band is running their campaign on the French KissKissBankBank crowdfunding platform. Of course anyone (from all over the world) can pledge for the project.
Contribution starts at €5, for €15 (ca. US $20) you get the CD.
Why Fund The Project
The band needs at least EUR €3500 (ca. US $4700).
The money raised will be used to pay the entire process of creating an album: –
- Recording Studio
- Manufacturing
- Completion: pressing, reproduction, graphics, distribution.
