It's been almost a year since I posted a version of I've Found A New Baby.
If you're a first time visitor here then you should know that this song is one of my all-time favorites and I love to collect as many versions as I could find.
Today's version is already the sixth that I'm featuring within the Song of the Week series.
I've Found A New Baby
I've Found A New Baby was written by Jack Palmer and Spencer Williams in 1926.
Bud Freeman
Lawrence „Bud“ Freeman (April 13, 1906 – March 15, 1991) was beside Coleman Hawkins and Ben Webster one of the first tenor saxophone players in jazz.
Freeman had a smooth and full style with a heavy robust swing.
He recorded I've Found a New Baby with his own band Bud Freeman & His Summa Cum Laude Orchestra that he formed with Pee Wee Russell and Eddie Condon among others. It only existed from 1939-1940.
